About the Movie:
"At once a rousing paean to artistic creation, a delicate evocation of divine grace, and the ultimate film about food, the Oscar-winning Babette’s Feastis a deeply beloved treasure of cinema. Directed by Gabriel Axel and adapted from a story by Isak Dinesen, it is the lovingly layered tale of a French housekeeper with a mysterious past who brings quiet revolution in the form of one exquisite meal to a circle of starkly pious villagers in late nineteenth-century Denmark. Babette’s Feast combines earthiness and reverence in an indescribably moving depiction of sensual pleasure that goes to your head like fine champagne."
WEDNESDAY JULY 17TH
Cochon & Cornichon Butcher Demonstration, Food and Wine Tasting!
Join us for a Joe's first! "Cochon & Cornichon" is a Heritage Breed Butcher Demonstration alongside a Food & Wine Pairing. We've teamed up with Butcher Austin Howard and Chef Kristi Ryan to offer an hour long butcher demo. Austin will be breaking down half the pig and discussing the importance of sourcing quality meat and using all of the animal. Chef Kristi will be presenting a wide array of hors d'oeuvres and pork related offerings. Ryan Stotz of Bourgeois Family Selections will have a wine table offering exquisite pig pairings including Champagne & Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Special thanks for Renaissance Farms for Donating the Heritage Breed Mangalitsa Pig! Mangalitsas are a very rare, old breed that most likely hasn't made it to your dinner table.
We're putting on the event next door to Bhan Thai. The house was built in the early 1900s and has a beautiful brick downstairs area we thought would be perfect for this event.
