Joe's Winos Wine Club may 2015
Willamette Valley Vineyards
Rosé of Pinot Noir 2014 Willamette Valley
We are thrilled to include this gorgeous rosé in our Club this month. We are even more proud that we are the only retail account in the state of Tennessee to have this. The winery is retailing it at $24 but we are able to offer it at a slightly lower price. It has a beautifully glistening salmon tint to it. Floral toned aromas of orange blossom, honeysuckle & strawberry. The palate is crisp, clean & round with a vibrant red berry fruit profile & bright acidity. If you wish to re-purchase any of this we recommend doing so sooner rather than later. We have the exclusive on this & once it’s gone we have to wait until next year to get anymore.
Pairings:
Watermelon, mint, feta & olive salad; salmon BLT with avocado
Rio Madre Rioja
graciano 2013 Spain
Graciano has always been used as a blending grape to add aromatic complexity & spice notes. Rarely has it been used on its own until 2010 when Rio Madre noticed their over 20 year old estate vines had the ability to stand on their own in a wine. It’s shocking to find a wine at this price point that is hand harvested. Not only that but they hand select only the best berries to use & delete the rest! The aroma has smoky savory element that leads into dark pungent fruit. You will find flavors of wild blackberry, tobacco, peppercorn & herbs.
PAIRINGS:
Grilled lamb kefta, spiced olive tapenade with aged manchego crostinis
