Welcome to joe’s wine education!

One thing that particularly makes Joe's unique from other stores in town is our interest and knowledge of our products. Customers have come to expect good, accurate advice from us. The point of these classes is to give everyone the knowledge base necessary to maneuver the store's wine sections. To do that, we'll be going through a very informative and approachable intro to wine book called Wine Folly: The Essential Guide to Wine. Through these emails, we'll send the reading for each week along with links to videos that may actually be the assignment instead of the book. This will be good for all of us, as we could all touch up on a few facts and make sure we're giving the best info possible. Below is a link to the movie Somm's trailer. It's 2 mins so please watch it. It does a great job of showing the breadth of the wine world. If you ever want to watch the movie, it is also very good, and if you want to pursue certification, Joe’s is excited to help you do this!

The first assignment covers pages 2-11 in the Wine Folly book. Lastly, there will be a 3-4 question quiz. The questions are not meant to be difficult. They are to ensure you would accurately answer questions often asked by customers. There is no penalty for wrong answers.
